All postdocs, clinical fellows and 'final year' PhD students from the NKI-AvL, the Academic Medical Center (UvA), the VU University Medical Center and the Hubrecht Institute are invited to join the annual Postdoc Retreat. During the three day retreat the position and future of postdocs is discussed.
The 4th postdoc retreat was held in Blooming Hotel in Bergen this year. The postdoc committee is proud to mention that the retreat is developing from an institutional (NKI-AVL) issue through a regional event (Amsterdam/Utrecht) and maybe, in the future, to an even wider spread meeting. We have tried to compose a balanced program of science career perspective, training, information, networking and discussion in an informal setting. Both the program and all the abstracts can be found in the book. If you have answered the question "how can I direct my career?" a key component of the retreat has been accomplished.
The 2004 postdoc retreat was organized by the following commitee of enthusiastic people:
Annegien Broeks (NKI)
Remond Fijneman (VUmc)
Astrid Greijer (VUmc)
Dirk Geerts (AMC)
Johan Jongsma (NKI)
Jacqueline Krüse (LUMC)
Conchita Vens (NKI)
Marieke van der Velde - Office Manager
Peter Peters - Dean
