In contrast to previous years, we did not have a Christmas dinner at the NKI. Instead we went for charity dinner in Amsterdam. In the month December, four student organizations from Amsterdam run a temporary restaurant on completely voluntary basis. The money they raise is donated to three charity funds.
Horror In 2000, we had a bloody Xmas dinner. Creepy people everywhere, undead, half-dead, or barely alive. A guy with a saw through his head, a mummy, and the Terminator were also seen, and the food was just as scary as the people around.
Sayings and old stories Old wisdom and classical Dutch stories came back alive in 2001. Organized by the people from the east of Holland, where they still believe in fairytales, we saw witches, a lot of farmers, good and bad fairies, a guy with a chainsaw, and two weird bunnies. The food was tradional Dutch, meaning a lot of potatoes and mashed vegetables, resulting in feeling completely stuffed within minutes.
Far East In 2002 the theme "Far East" resulted in a seminar room filled with Chinese people, Samurai Warriors, a Kamikaze pilot, three ninjas, and two budhist monks. The party continued 'till very late with the music mixed by DJ-leen.
Italy Last year we decided to go for pizzas, macaroni, lasagne, and spaghetti: Italia. We saw the emperor Nero, two Venetian gondoliers, Italian machos, Roberto Baggio, Madonna, a walking pizza, and a girl dressed as a Ferrari. Again, the party didn't stop 'till early in the morning when DJ-leen played his last track.
