23.13 PDT - Tosj | Tânia's Birthday! - It's friday, our last day at the WWDC of this year (hope to be back next year?!) Today is more of a feedback day to Apple and you can see that it is the last day, because the amount of attendees has dropped significantly.
Alex and Philipp attend most of the session, Tom is trying to rewrite his dashboard widget, because it still has code in there from the Tiger Preview era... By the end of the day he has it almost working, only has to get rid of the aqua buttons in the front. He hopes it will be ready before we exit the USA! We'll see about that. Being students we HAVE to skip at least the last session, so together with Simon Whitty, Jim Balhoff and Phillip Seibel we are of to part of the Marriott Hotel: 'Fourth Street Bar & Deli' , where we have a few pints and something to eat. It is also there that we meet Serge again.
After the drinks we partly split up, Jim and Philipp are off to the hotel, while we go north to visit the Virgin store and of course once more the Apple store. It is in front of the Marriott that we meet Robert Byrne again. Tom tries to 'sell' him a bag with a computer in it for twenty dollars, but this time he doesn't do it! (He bought a 'computer' for 20 dollars from a man on the street, while it turned out to be a pile of magazines!).
From there we went to a corner on 6th street and Mission where there is a building with all kinds of furniture attached to the outside walls. We saw the building yesterday when we were in the bus to the Mothership (Cupertino). Then we went back to the Marriott hotel in 4th street to try to get to The View Lounge on the 39th floor. From there we had a beautiful view over San Francisco and the sunset behind the hills in the north. Simon and Serge decided there to join us tomorrow on our planned bike trip, so we went home to work on this story, the pictures and to get a good night rest.
