22:35 PDT - Tosj | Day 4, this morning we were both awake before my mobile phone began making it's distinctive wake-up sound, so we were perfectly on time to make a few short phone calls home and to be off on time to return our car. After we returned the car we went for our croissants and drinks. We walked to Moscone West to get registered for the WWDC. At 8:45 a.m. it is very calm in the convention centre and we are quite soon the happy owners of a new WWDC 2005 bag with content: a WWDC 2005 t-shirt with a big 'tiger X' on the back; a WWDC 2005 pen; a WWDC 2005 drinking bottle and some paperwork with sessions schedule for the rest of the week. But where did our 15% discount coupon go that we did get last year?
Anyhow, Phillip joined us already and tried to get into the student day too, because he has a normal ADC account and not a student account, although he is one. That was arranged quite quickly and off we were to the Argent Hotel just one block away. There we were welcomed by various people from Apple who helped us during the student sunday. Among them Aaron Hillegass and James Duncan Davidson. Together these people lead us through the day. We were separated in two groups, a starter and a more advanced track, which merged back after a hands on session in the afternoon. Then we had a special speaker: Will Shipley, founder and interaction design engineer of Delicious Monster!
In the afternoon we skipped the Student Career Reception, because we didn't expect a spotlight of science after last year, when there was only a rocket science company... Instead we phoned and chatted with Serge Cohen, a colleague and post-doc at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Together with him we went for a beer, but the trip turned out into a tourist walk though San Francisco, with China Town, Pier 39 where we ate and the cable car in it. After that we were almost back on the place where we started and eventually had a drink in Red's Corner.
Now we will try to get some sleep again. We hope to be in the silence before the (Keynote) storm of tomorrow! We don't do rumors these days, so we are thrilled what the keynote will bring for us...
